Pre-Engineering

Mission of pre-engineering program
To empower students to develop and apply in-demand, transportable skills by exploring real-world challenges

Goals
1. For students to better prepared for post-secondary studies
2. To increase the quantity of scientists, technology experts, engineers, mathematicians, healthcare providers, and researchers
3. For students to find the program relevant, inspiring, engaging, and foundational to their future success

Introduction to Engineering Design  (IED)
Students dig deep into the engineering design process, applying math, science, and engineering standards to hands-on projects like designing a new toy or improving an existing product.

Principles of Engineering (POE)
Students explore a broad range of engineering topics including mechanisms, strength of structure and materials, and automation, and then they apply what they know to take on challenges like designing a self-powered car.

Digital Electronics  (DE)
Students explore the foundations of computing by engaging in circuit design processes to create combinational logic and sequential logic (memory) as electrical engineers do in industry.

Engineering Design and Development
Students research, design and develop various projects throughout the course of the year using a mix of CAD, 3d Printing, and programming.
