CTE -- College and Career Selective Academies

Hancock College Prep is proud to announce the following selective Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs:

  • Pre -Engineering Honors Program
  • Pre-Law Honors Program

Each program consists of an academically rigorous, four-year, Honors level course of study.  Students will be enrolled in one Pre-Engineering or Pre-Law course per year as part of Hancock’s curriculum. 

In addition to in-class study, students will be exposed to real world opportunities such as internships and job shadowing.

Application Criteria:

General Education Students and Students with a 504 Plan: Minimum percentile of 24 in both reading and math.

Students with an IEP and Students Receiving Bilingual Education Services: Minimum reading and math percentiles that equal 48 or higher.


Selection Criteria


Students will be assigned points for 7th grade final GPA and 7th grade percentiles; student selections are based on points. 


*For SY2020-2021 only, CPS will consider students’ highest NWEA scores from any of the following prior administrations:

    • Winter 2019
    • Fall 2019
    • Spring 2019
The district will also use the highest scores of either students' final grades or the average of their first and second quarter grades. 
Students living in current high school boundaries of Bogan, Curie, Gage Park, Hubbard, Kennedy, and Solorio receive preference.
