Spaces Exhibit Essays December 2022
Hancock AP English Language students read about how spaces and places, intentionally or not, influence how people see each other and themselves.
We learned that we develop an attachment to places through these factors*:
--Distinctivness
--Continuity
--Self-Esteem
--Self-Efficacy
* “The concept of place attachment in environmental psychology,” published in Elixir International Journal, 2012
So students contemplated, “How do spaces and places affect our behavior, views, and identity?”
The audio essays in this exhibit express students’ relationships with specific places they formed an attachment or detachment to. Click on an essay to listen.
