Mr. Phillips was born and raised in Ireland and lived there until earning his Bachelor's degree in Science from Trinity College, Dublin. Not ready to begin a career in Geology just yet, he spent a year working and traveling in Australia after graduation. He got his first experience in education by becoming an English teacher in Japan, teaching at language schools, middle-schools and finally on a cruise ship. After moving to the United States, Mr. Phillips received a Master's Degree in Education from University of Illinois at Chicago and Master's Degree in Literacy Education from Northeastern Illinois University. He began teaching at John Hancock College Prep in 2010. He has worked in a range of positions at the school, including Special Education Case Manager, and Biology, Chemistry and Physics teacher. He currently teaches Honors Physics and AP Physics.
