Vicente Fernandez Day at Hancock

On February 17th, students in Mr. Jimenez Latin American Class paid tribute to the late Vicente Fernandez in recognition of all his contributions to Mexican and Latino culture. Students displayed art work, read poems, performed songs and had a student perform traditional Charro moves, a rich custom that Vicente Fernandez advocated all his life. State Representative Angelica Guerrero-Cuellar contributed by sponsoring a house resolution that made February 17t officially Vicente Fernandez Day all over the state of Illinois.
