I know that it can be frustrating when things keep changing, but at Hancock, we are great at adjusting! We know that each of you is experiencing something different with this closure, and we are doing our best to support and understand that. Sometime tomorrow, I will send out a survey that will help us gather information about one very important thing right now, technology access. We need this information to try to determine our next course of action with grades. For now, these are the guidelines we have given to teachers:
1. Teachers can grade and enter into ASPEN any missing assignments from before the closure. We want to give students every opportunity to turn in work that they could have turned in if we were in school.
2. Whenever possible, teachers should provide feedback for students on work that is turned in during the closure. But for now, new grades will not be entered into ASPEN.
3. If teachers know students who cannot access technology, they will email me work that can be printed and copied for students. We can arrange for you to pick up that work during food distribution hours (9:00-1:00).
I know this is a time of uncertainty, but there is one thing you can count on. We are working very hard to do everything in our power to make sure you keep learning and thinking.
