Pre-Calculus (Period 6)

The objective of this course is to prepare students for AP Calculus by re-enforcing both the technical skills and conceptual understanding.  This course does not consist simply of memorialization, but appreciates mathematic as an art of problem-solving, a highly prized skill in many careers.  Topics will be presented algebraically, graphically, numerically, and verbally, with emphasis on the relationships between these different representations.  In the process, topics taught will align to the expectations of AP Calculus, SAT, Common Core Standards, and assist in capturing the students’ different learning styles. A strong emphasis will also be place on the modeling of mathematics in the real world.  To master this course, lots of problems must be solve in a logical step by step fashion.
