AP Environmental Science

Course Description

Everything is connected to everything else; land affects water affects people affects air affects land.  Once we recognize that the natural and unnatural, organic and inorganic parts of our planet are intimately connected, we can begin to understand what that means for us as a species on Earth and our future.

We will be analyzing real world data with professional tools, experiments, and skills in order to prepare us for the real world problems that await.  Population growth, resource consumption, energy use, pollution, and human health will be some of our many focuses throughout the course. With these units, we will analyze and assess human activities and the environment for solutions to the numerous conflicts we have observed today and will encounter tomorrow.  In this class we will approach every problem through two lenses: scientifically and socially.
