This is the second part of the beginning course in the French language. During this course, students will build on their skills in the four domains of the French language: listening, reading, writing, & speaking. Students will expand their knowledge of fundamental grammatical structures of French, including conjugating verbs in the past and future tenses. Students will expand their vocabulary beyond what is needed in daily conversational situations. Students will expand their knowledge of French-speaking cultures and geography. Students will continue to be assessed on three modes of communication, which align with the course standards: interpersonal communication, or two-way interaction with someone else; interpretive communication, the ability to understand and interpret a one-way aural or written text; and presentational communication, the ability to present information in either a written or oral format.
