When you have critically edited and revised your podcast, and you are confident you have an A or B (or whatever grade you are aiming for), upload the podcast here AND TURN IT IN!

Best Wishes!

Vox Pop Interview (Classwork) in Google Classroom

Vox Pop Interview (Classwork)

Create, edit, and share your first practice podcast. This needs to be a vox pop interview that lasts between 90 seconds and 120 seconds. Your edited interview won't be long enough, so you need to record and add an introduction and outro. Use your CPS account for this project. If you cannot open this, let me know so I can share a link with you.

Rhetorical Analysis #1 in Google Classroom

Rhetorical Analysis #1

How does a writer craft a text to encourage his or her audience to understand, act or believe? In 2-3 typed pages, determine a writer’s purpose and analyze the techniques he or she uses to achieve that purpose. You may want to consider the following questions before you begin writing your essay: What is the writer’s purpose? Which of the following rhetorical or stylistic elements best develop the writer’s purpose: diction, syntax, details, appeals, assumptions the writer has about his or her audience, and/or other noteworthy literary elements?

When writing this essay, ensure that your thesis is clear, arguable and well-supported using properly formatted quotes and examples from the text. You may want to organize this essay by dedicating a paragraph to each specific rhetorical technique you are analyzing OR you may want to organize your essay by breaking the text into chunks and examining particular techniques that unfold as the text progresses. Your ideas should build with the text with effective transitions to create a cohesive piece. Finally, consider your audience by using a formal style with proper English language conventions.

Letter To My Teacher in Google Classroom

Letter To My Teacher

Write me back. Type and submit at least a 1-page letter.   In your letter, introduce yourself as I did.  Tell me about yourself in three ways by using three things your like (some examples include music, television, games, fashion, food, hobbies, etc.). The challenge is to reveal something under the surface about you through these things you share. Go back to my letter to you. See how I shared my emotions through music, my personality through television, and my work ethic and approach through games. Open windows through this letter so we can make a connection.

This is your first assignment of the year, so impress me by writing a thoughtful and thorough letter.  I look forward to reading your letters and to making the journey of this year with you.
