Course Description

Spanish I for Heritage Speakers H(1 Cr. Hr.) Grade level: 9-12
Spanish I for Heritage Speakers is a course directed to those students that by heritage have knowledge of the Spanish language. It is conducted entirely in Spanish student participation using the Spanish language is required. The course is designed to expand students’ knowledge of the history, culture, language, grammar and literature of the Spanish Speaking world. Students will be able to develop and improve their, reading, speaking, listening, writing and critical thinking skills as well as making connections with the English language to understand how both languages function.
Additional Literary works will be included: poetry, novels and plays. Students will begin to analyze and deepen in the works.
