CTE -- College and Career Selective Academies

Hancock College Prep is proud to announce the following selective Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs:

  • Pre -Engineering Honors Program
  • Pre-Law Honors Program
 

Each program consists of an academically rigorous, four-year, honors level course of study.  Students will be enrolled in one Pre-Engineering or Pre-Law course per year as part of Hancock’s curriculum. 

In addition to in-class study, students will be exposed to real-world opportunities such as internships and job shadowing.

Selection Criteria

Students will be assigned points for their 7th grade final GPA in their core classes and their 8th grade high school admissions test score; student selections are based on points.  
 
Current CPS and CPS charter school students will take the high school admissions test on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 during the school day.  (Students do not need to register for the exam.)
 
Non-CPS students have the option to take the high school admissions test on the following dates: 
  • Saturday, October 14, 2023

  • Sunday, October 15, 2023

  • Saturday, October 21, 2023

*Students must submit an application in order to register for the exam.* 
 
Students living in current high school boundaries of Bogan, Curie, Gage Park, Hubbard, Kennedy, and Solorio receive preference.
