Heather Pavona is a teacher, On-Track Coordinator, and Director of Admissions at John Hancock College Preparatory High School where she has been working since 2011. Prior to coming to Hancock, Heather worked for eight years as both a teacher and Service-Learning Coach at Kelvyn Park High School on the city’s northwest side. In her years of teaching, Heather has taught several courses including H. English I, H. English II, Written and Oral Communications, Reading Workshop and Film Studies. Heather is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan and completed both her undergraduate and graduate work there. She also holds a Masters of Reading from Northeastern Illinois University. Heather lives in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago with her husband Brian, her son Charlie, and her rambunctious Goldendoodle, Thor.
