| Mr. Toner became a school librarian by accident and is quite pleased with the outcome. He attended a boarding school for high school made (in)famous in 8 Mile, but he doesn't remember it that way. He then attended the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, where a passion for the video game Civilization 2 was almost his undoing. He then was selected to be a member of the first Teachers for Chicago Librarian coterie and started in an elementary school in Englewood. Eventually, he transitioned to high school libraries, where he finds his talents can be best used. He does a lot of small things around the school that really adds up. Currently, he is the sponsor of the Book Club (at 35 members, one of the largest in CPS) and the Yearbook. While often busy, he is never too busy to help. |
