Mildred Garcia is a Guatemalan woman raised in Humboldt Park. Garcia received a Bachelor’s in Social Work and Minor in Ethnic Studies from California State University, Sacramento. She attained a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University in Chicago. As a first-generation college student and immigrant, Mildred is passionate about education, women empowerment, youth development, and community. Mildred brings an extensive background in restorative justice. As a dean of students, she has merged her practices in restorative justice and social work. She is looking forward to building relationships and being a support to the Hancock community.
