Hancock students have numerous opportunities for travel each school year. Trips come in all shapes and sizes. Locally, teachers frequently organize relevant curriculum extension activities, such as environmental forest clean-ups, theatre performances and college visits. A little further afield, students may travel to Springfield or Washington D.C. with organizations focusing on student voice and social justice, to the New York theater scene with Drama classes, or to Florida with the school band. Finally, every year the Eagles International program offers an exciting and enriching trip overseas. Who can participate? All students who are interested in traveling to different places and experiencing different cultures are welcomed!

Purpose
The mission of Eagles International is to provide opportunities for educational travel and to prepare students for success in today’s global society. By participating in Eagles International, students will explore the culture and geography of various countries, becoming immersed in history, nature, language, architecture, important historical and contemporary figures, art, and cultural and societal norms. To date, Eagles International has traveled to Spain, Italy, France, China, Ecuador and Costa Rica.
Eagles International makes travel accessible to all and allows students to use the world as their classroom. We strive to open students’ horizons and demonstrate the importance of becoming lifelong learners. Students will become more responsible, mature, confident, independent, open-minded and will better understand the world in which they live. For many students this will be their first trip abroad; this program provides an opportunity to travel with experienced teachers and guides who teach students about travel safety and cultural competence.

- All students who are interested in traveling to different places are welcomed.

New York Theater Trip
Almost 30 Hancock students embarked on a 5 day trip to New York City for an immersive Broadway experience over Spring Break 2018. Students saw two Broadway shows, visited two world-class museums, and toured several theaters and New York City landmarks including Radio City Music Hall, Times Square, and Rockefeller Center. Students participated in an improvisational acting workshop and a Q&A session with theater professionals. Students also had the opportunity to earn a 1/2 credit, equivalent to 1 semester of high school course work, if they completed a project associated with this tour.
