VISION

The vision of John Hancock High School is to ensure that all students are provided a learning environment where they can achieve to their fullest potential. Through the motivation of the teachers and staff students will strive for excellence and become proactive citizens who are more responsible for their education.

MISSION

Our mission is to provide our students an education that builds and strengthens their critical thinking skills, encourages effective and proficient use of technology and promotes proactive involvement in the community. We will do this by integrating reading instruction throughout the curriculum, using mathematics and equations as tools for problem solving in various situations, providing and using technology throughout the school, and through cooperative learning and peer coaching methods.

PRIORITY GOALS

READING: To provide reading instruction across the curriculum at all grade levels.
MATHEMATICS: To improve mathematic skills at all grade levels across the curricula.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Develop the teachers� skills that will allow them to include reading instruction and technology across the curriculum; and, to develop the teachers� skills in addressing the needs of their students in academic, personal, and professional environments.
